Liz Cummings, MSW-i
Therapist
Hi, I’m Liz! I’m a Master of Social Work student at Boise State University completing my clinical internship here at Wellspace Utah.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish and value working with people from different cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. I’m excited to continue growing as a clinician at Wellspace and to support clients as they navigate change, relationships, healing, and personal growth.
Education
Master of Social Work Intern - Boise State University
Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Studies - Brigham Young University - Idaho
Licensed Social Service Worker - State of Utah
Experience
Victim Advocacy
Substance Use Treatment Settings
Family support and parent education
Trauma-Informed and Strengths-Based practice
DBT, CMT, and Mindfulness
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing a variety of challenges:
● Relationship challenges
● Anxiety and depression
● Trauma and PTSD
● Communication problems
● Self-harming behaviors or suicidal thoughts
● Addiction issues
As I continue developing as a clinician, I’m especially drawn to a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I value collaboration and believe that therapy doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. I hope to create a space where we can be curious about what’s happening in your life, recognize what is already working, and explore new ways of moving forward.
My path into social work has allowed me to work alongside individuals and families during some of the more difficult and uncertain moments in their lives. Through experiences in family support, substance use treatment, and victim advocacy, I’ve learned how important it is to approach each person with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their individual experiences.
